$250 ISE Language Matters Award

ISE LogoISE is pleased to make available to IWLA a special recognition award for its membership. The ISE Language Matters Award would be granted to a high school teacher through a nomination and selection process determined by IWLA.

Award

The ISE Language Matters Award shall consist of a framed award certificate and a $250 grant.

Eligibility

The applicant selected for this award shall be a high school teacher of a world language who has achieved outstanding success in getting his / her students to speak the target language through exemplary motivation and creative methods; in addition, the winner shall be a teacher who has provided authentic immersion experiences outside the classroom for students to apply their speaking skills. 

No prior association or experience with ISE is required of the nominee. 

Nominating IWLA Members

Send your nomination to Sara Blanco (sara.blanco@uni.edu) no later than August 31st 2008. Please include with your nomination the name and contact info of your nominee as well as a statement of why you feel he/she merits this award. Also, you must include your name and contact information for the nomination to be considered.

The award sponsor, Intercultural Student Experiences, is a non-profit education organization that facilitates immersion experiences abroad for students and teachers of French, German and Spanish.
