Dr. Potowski is going to give two workshops back to back on Friday about teaching Heritage Learners. The workshops are going to explore pedagogical and administrative considerations in the teaching Spanish to heritage speakers. Then there will be a discussion of the implications of these characteristics for classrooom terachers of heritage speakers as well as administrative considerations including course placement and materials selection.
It is a great opportunity to have this expert in the field talking to teachers in Iowa. This opportunity was made posible through a minigrant through the Department of Education and Dr. Carmen Sosa's efforts.
